Ivana Bašić’s Sculpture in ‘New Humans: Memories of the Future’ at the New Museum, New York

Ivana Bašić’s sculpture Blossoming Being #2 (2024), recently acquired by the Museum of Contemporary Art, Bangkok, is included in ‘New Humans: Memories of the Future’ at the New Museum, New York.

As the inaugural presentation in the New Museum’s expanded building, this landmark exhibition explores what it means to be human amid sweeping technological transformations. Spanning works by over 150 international artists, writers, scientists, architects, and filmmakers, the exhibition traces a ‘diagonal history’ of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, examining how periods of social and technological upheaval have continually reshaped conceptions of humanity and its possible futures.
