L'Officiel: Rawness in Art - Luis Xertu

Based in the Netherlands, Luis Xertu has taken on various roles in dance performance groups since his student years, and is well-versed in the body, dance, photography, oil painting, and even the use of AI technology. In this group exhibition presented by the local young gallery PODIUM, he shows three new works, incorporating fresh flowers and plants into the pieces. As time passes, they change, breaking the state of “perfection.” 

In art and in daily life, Luis believes that perfection does not exist at all. Our bodies and emotions have in fact long been regulated by a set of seemingly scientific standards: what is “normal” blood pressure, what is a “healthy” body, and even what emotional states one “should” have.
