Alicja Pakosz
Biography
Through her humorous paintings, installations, and large-format dioramas, Alicja Pakosz (b. 1996, lives and works in Kraków) navigates the fissures between collective memory and histories, and visualises the shifting of the politics of memory in the matrix of nationalism and identity politics. She had solo exhibitions at Office Baroque, Antwerp (2023), Galeria Raster, Warsaw (2023), Pani Domu, Poznań (2023), CSW Kronika, Bytom (2022), and Galeria Piana, Kraków (2021). She has also participated in group exhibitions at KKKC & Krupa Art Foundation, Klaipeda (2023), Modulgalerie, Nuremberg (2023), Galeria Arsenał, Białystok (2022), Piana Gallery, Kraków (2022), LELE ArtSpace, Warsaw (2021), and the Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts, Kraków (2020). She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków and briefly studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg in 2018. She is pursuing her PhD at the Doctoral School of the Pedagogical University of Kraków.
