Biography
Dew Kim (b.1985, lives and works in Seoul) explores the meaning of beings excluded from and discarded by the world moving towards normality, and the intense impulsive energy generated therein. He also visualises the queer narrative through the process of self-objectification, and attempts to break the boundaries of social structures and binary thinking. Kim had solo exhibitions at Alternative Space Loop, Seoul (2023), Various Small Fires, Seoul (2023), Fragment Gallery, Moscow (2021), and out_sight, Seoul (2020).He has recently participated in group exhibitions at PHD Group, Hong Kong (2023), Swivel Gallery, New York (2023), Subtitled, New York (2023), Para Site, Hong Kong (2023), Galerie Du Monde, Hong Kong (2022), Documenta15, Kassel (2022), National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul (2022), Barbican Centre, Camden Arts Centre and Institute of Contemporary Arts, London (2022), and Art Space BOAN, Seoul (2021). Kim received his MA in Sculpture from the Royal College of Art, London and his BFA in Metalsmithing and Jewelry from Konkuk University, Chungju.
