Biography
Phoebe Hui (lives and works in Hong Kong) is an artist and researcher primarily working in the relationship between language, sound and technology. Her recent projects explore interdisciplinary ideas drawn from the philosophy of science, system aesthetics and the concept of indeterminacy. Her solo exhibitions were held in Tai Kwun, Hong Kong (2024, 2021), Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre, Hong Kong (2019), Open Gallery, Hong Kong (2017), Yale University School of Art Gallery, New Haven (2017), Chinese Culture Center, San Francisco (2016), Yale University School of Art Sam Space, New Haven (2016), K11 Chi Art Space, Hong Kong (2016). Her recent group exhibitions include Podium Gallery, Hong Kong (2024), Hong Kong Arts Centre, Hong Kong (2023), Hong Kong Palace Museum, Hong Kong (2022), 10 Chancery Lane Gallery, Hong Kong (2018), Hong Kong Arts Centre Pao Galleries, Hong Kong (2017), Ars Electronica, Linz (2016), Yale CEID, New Haven (2016), and Videotage, Hong Kong (2016). Hui received her MFA at UCLA Design Media Art, Los Angeles, her MA in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London, and her BA in Creative Media from City University of Hong Kong.
