Biography
So Young Park (b. 1971, lives and works in Seoul and Berlin) navigates between the ambiguous boundaries of form and colour and creates surrealist, liquid metal-esque paintings that evoke trans-temporal, déjà vu dreamscapes, exploring how one may relate to a collective of life forms in a planetary approach. Her recent solo exhibitions were held at P21, Seoul (2023), frontviews at HAUNT, Berlin (2022), and Project Space Sarubia, Seoul (2021). She has participated in group exhibitions at Chapter, New York (2024), Simone Subal Gallery, New York (2023), P21, Seoul (2023), Uferhallen, Berlin (2022), and Artspace3, Seoul (2022). Her works are in the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Artbank, Seoul, EsMoa Museum, California, and various important private collections. She graduated from the Berlin University of the Arts and studied under Professor Daniel Richter.
