Frieze: Yein Lee’s Biomorphic Forms Seek Connection

24 June 2026

Suspended, leaning, crouching and rooted to the floor through branching appendages, Yein Lee’s sculptural works in ‘Accomplice’ seem caught between states of precarity and stability. The artist’s first major institutional solo exhibition, curated by Ema Ograjenšek at Cukrarna Gallery, approaches sculpture less as a stable form than as a site where the fragile relationships between bodies and materials are rendered visible in dense assemblages marked by fragmentation and omission.
